The Falls accepted into IFP Market

Posted by Locked Horns on August 1st, 2003

IFP LaurelAs part of an overall festival strategy, The Falls was submitted to the 25th Annual Independent Feature Project (IFP) Market. IFP has been a major force in the independent film movement for over 2 decades and its annual Market has launched many known and respected indie films such as Reservoir Dogs, The Brother McMullen, Roger & Me, Blood Simple, and scores of others. A screening and a presence at the Market can bring invaluable exposure to a film, leading to festival invitations, publicity, and ultimately distribution.

The team behind The Falls is honored to have been accepted into the Emerging Narrative section of the IFP Market. We are technically listed as a “Work-In-Progress” - which is what The Falls continues to be until it actually gets burned to 35mm film. Our Market presence will include a screening at the Angelika Film Center in New York, copies of the film available to industry people in the Market Library, networking meetings, and a number of other events.

“The IFP Market is a week-long showcase, held each autumn in New York, for new features, works-in-progress, shorts, and scripts. For independent filmmakers, it is the only market in the U.S. where one can present new film and television work-in-development directly to the film industry in a selective and professional atmosphere. For the film industry, it is a vital exhibition and discovery forum for new talent and a place to discover new films before they hit the festival circuit.”

The IFP Market takes place in New York, September 21 through 26, 2003. For more information about the IFP Market, please visit their website. Check back here for continued updates regarding screening days and times.
