Ready to depart!
All packed and ready to go. Suitcases bursting with postcards, presskits, VHS and DVD screeners and more t-shirts than I care to count. Can’t wait… must get some sleep… plane leaves early tomorrow… back to NYC for the first time in almost a year and a half.
I’ll probably be incommunicado all day Saturday due to traveling. First update from the actual IFP Market should hit Sunday night. As far as I’m concerned, Sunday can’t come soon enough!
Final Prep for IFP Market
A somewhat less eventful day in that I was mostly at home finishing writing some new press kit material and tweaking our DVD presentation. Up until now, our DVD has just had the film and the first trailer I cut right after we returned from location filming. Now a student of mine, Abraham Stopani, has cut a nice new 2-minute trailer that I wanted to include, so it required some additional work on the menus and such. Still not done, as I have yet to add our deleted scenes and a nice chapter selection interface. But that’s a battle for another day. Time to burn some copies to take with me to IFP.
In other news, I spoke with an old friend of mine from high school who I have not seen since our 10-year reunion back in ’98. He’s an entertainment lawyer now and I found him in the IFP industry directory as one of the people who will be attending the Market – a bizarre coincidence, but I guess you could say it’s icing on what has already been a pretty good cake. It’ll be great to see a familiar face at the Market that’s for sure.
Promo materials!
All right! All my running around insanely has started to pay off. Today I picked up our giant (28″x40″) posters, new letterhead, and press kit photos, as well as our brand new T-SHIRTS!!! They totally rule. The Falls logo on the left front chest, and on the back, a four-color process silk screen of the poster design. On black shirts, of course.
Next up, business cards, IFP handouts, and stickers, which should all be done on or before Friday.
IFP Market schedule change
IFP has notified me today that our Monday 9/22 screening is actually 10:30 am, not 11:30 am as previously published. If you are planning on attending the screening, please make a note of the change.
IFP Market Madness
Well, IFP has not started yet, but the madness surely has. Running all over the Valley of the Sun looking at t-shirt proofs (a new design based on the poster), picking up printing, dubbing the 15-minute showreel to DigiBeta, FedEx-ing said reel to IFP, printing and assembling press kits, making VHS dubs, burning and labeling DVD’s.
Just 3 days ’til I leave for NYC… too much to do… to little sleep… can’t wait!!!!
Will try to update daily from here on out!
