2008 Phoenix Film Festival Screenplay Quarterfinalist

Our original feature screenplay The Redhead, written by Steve Briscoe and Paul DeNigris, was announced today as one of the Top 20 entries in the 2008 Phoenix Film Festival Arizona Screenplay Challenge, presented by IFP/Phoenix. More details can be found here on the Phoenix Film Festival website.

LOGLINE: A coming-of-age roadtrip comedy, The Redhead tells the story of Josh Duffet, 18-year-old son of a plumber in suburban Buffalo, New York. With his plans for the future - including a football scholarship to Arizona State University - put on indefinite hold because of a shoulder injury, Josh settles himself into the rut of working for the family plumbing business until Uncle Stan, consummate car collector and Josh’s lifelong mentor, gives Josh a mysterious handcrafted racecar and sends him on the adventure of a lifetime - to see the country and discover what’s most important… himself.

The Top 10 screenplays will be announced February 15th, the Winners on March 13th. The 8th annual Phoenix Film Festival runs April 3rd through 10th at the Harkins Scottsdale 101 Theatres.
