On the set of Cowboy Dreams – an actor’s perspective
Here’s a great post written by actor Bartley Overbey about his experiences on the set of our short film “Cowboy Dreams” last year. We’ve been wanting to post it for a while, but never could seem to find the right time. Well, better late than never!
Some people have asked me how the shoot for “Cowboy Dreams†went, So I thought I would write about my experiences on the set. Get some coffee, its gonna be a long one. The shoot was on May 10th 2008 near Seven Springs.
When I turned off the main street onto the dirt washboard road I got the feeling that I was going back in time..the Mix CD was playing the theme song to “dune”. It was 4:30 in the afternoon. The switchback road twisted and turned and after awhile I came upon one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen. This ranch was breathtaking. It had big trees all over and a gentle creek running through it… A bass/Catfish pond, and everything was very Green.
What a place to shoot!
I got out of the car and started walking to the bunkhouse and the first apparition I saw was a man that was dressed in the garb of the 1850′s…
